Robin J. Williams & Peace

History

Peace Gospel Choir was organized in November 1981. The inspiration came from

Directress and Founder Robin Williams while she was a junior at McClymonds High

School in West Oakland, CA. The original Peace Choir was composed of seven students

from McClymonds. After their first debut performance at Solid Rock Baptist Church’s

Midnight musical in December 1981, the choir began to grow numerically and was

opened to young people all over the Bay Area.

Peace has made a mark in the community by reaching people where they are,

especially the youth & young adults. They have taken the ministry into Juvenile Hall,

San Quentin Prison, feeding & clothing & ministering to the homeless and less fortunate

as well as the sick and shut-in.

Robin J. Williams & Peace Gospel Choir has been awarded numerous awards & accolades.

Robin & Peace, have been blessed and honored to work in ministry and/or

share the stage with gospel greats such as, the late, Edwin Hawkins, Vicki Winans,

Dorinda Clark-Cole, Rance Allen, Lady Tremaine Hawkins, Donnie McClurkin, Jonathan

Nelson, Marvin Sapp, Erica Campbell & James Hall, just to name a few. And just

celebrated their 42 nd Anniversary at the Bay Area’s historic Yoshi’s Jazz Club, to a “SOLDOUT” audience!

For 42 + years, God has blessed this anointed group by giving them strength to let

their light shine for men to see their good works and glorifying our Father in Heaven. The

ministry has been rejuvenated and is encouraged to keep on bringing “PEACE”!

The motto of Robin J.Williams and Peace is “Only What You Do For Christ Will Last”

Robin Joyette Williams

Robin Joyette is the oldest of 5 children, 1 sister Rosalind Adele, 3 brothers: John Paul Jr, Demetrius Ulysses and Timothy Romalis. Robin Joyette was born during Hurricane Betsy, to the late Rev. John P. Edwards Sr., & Mrs. Carolyn Edwards, in New Orleans, LA. Robin Joyette was baptized at the tender age of 3 years old, by the late Pastor Noah Copelad at her home church, the Historic Greater Liberty B.C. in the Great City of New Orleans, LA. The Edwards family later relocated to California in the early 70’s, and united with the Solid Rock B.C., under the leadership of Pastor E.L. Thomas.

Robin Joyette attended Lafayette Elementary, Lowell Jr. High School and Kohn Middle school In New Orleans, came back to Cali and while attending McClymonds High School in 1981, Robin was inspired to organize Peace Gospel Choir. It was her desire to be a part of a group that was family oriented, and different from what she personally experienced being in other ministries. Robin & Peace recorded their 1 st project entitled “We’re Gonna Make It”, and the fulfillment ofthat title holds true today. God has blessed Robin & Peace for the past 37 + Years and they will celebrate their 38 th Year Anniversary, on November 17 th , 2019. To God Be All The Glory!

On August 17 th , 2005 (her 40 th Birthday), she received results from a biopsy that she had, at the request of her doctor, Dr. Alan Nan. The results confirmed that she had Uterine Cancer. After discussing it with her husband, it was decided that she would have surgery to remove cancer. So, surgery was scheduled September 2005 and it was a success!

On March 13 th , 2013, while at work, Robin was rushed to ER due to excruciating pain in her arm. She then had a follow-up appointment with her primary doctor, and it was determined that a malignant tumor traveled from her armpit to her right breast. Robin was devastated to say the least, and only shared with very few loved ones. Then on April 18 th , 2017, after every doctor visit, every mammogram, every biopsy, every treatment, every medication, all the pain, all the mental and physical stress, and all the Prayer and Praises to GOD, Robin received results from

her last follow-up that showed NO MORE SIGNS OF BREAST CANCER!!!!!!!!!!!!! GLOOOORRRRRAAAYYYY!!!!!!

Robin has been married to the love of her life, Frank Dwayne Williams Sr., for 31 + Years. (March 19 th , 1988). They have 4 children: Frank Jr., Nicole, Kevin & Jalen; 2 Grand-Daughters, Ny’Re Nasjae Williams; and Kimani Vaniece Williams, 1 grandson Kevin Jamal Williams Jr., and 1 grandson due at the end of July 2024!!! A host of nephews, nieces, god-children, bonus children & church/neighborhood children.

The future is AMAZINGLY bright for Robin. God has refreshed, renewed, and rejuvenated Robin’s heart for worship even the more. The level of ministry has definitely elevated and continues to do so, which confirms that God is not through with her just yet. Robin has come to realize who she really is in Christ and that she wasn’t born to “FIT IN” but she was chosen to “STAND OUT & UP” for God. Robin has and always will believe that “ONLY WHAT YOU DO FOR CHRIST WILL LAST.”

PEACE MINISTRY DEDICATION

Peace has been built on a very strong foundation, that has produced a result of

“LOVE & CONSISTENCY”

It’s my belief it’s the reason we’re still standing firm today! There

are several individuals (Past & Present) that have supported us, loved us, taught us, encouraged us, worshipped with us, corrected us, and prayed for us! We remember and dedicate this to the following, for their significant contributions to

ROBIN J.WILLIAMS & PEACE!

My Parents - John & Carolyn Edwards, who planted the seed of love in me and

nurtured it. Who taught me to stay humble and treat others how I want to be treated and always reminded me that Only what I do for Christ would last.

My Husband - Frank D. Williams Sr., who has been my confidant, my muse, my love, my profound inspiration and greatest supporter!
